THE MYSTERY

An avionics supplier had been wrestling with a jerky, stubborn, catching oven door for years. All attempts at repair had failed. The case of the jerky oven door.

THE CLUES

Upon close investigation, the ACES CSI on the scene discovered that the gear box was very low on oil, and the chain was jumping over a sprocket, creating a safety hazard if the chain should whip over the whole sprocket, putting employees at risk.

THE PERP

In addition to the dry gear box, The ACES CSI determined that a loose chain was the main culprit preventing the door from opening and closing smoothly.

THE SOLUTION

The ACES CSI tightened the chain properly and oiled the gear box and now the door opens and closes with a whisper.
